Building a Private Practice: continuing the fun!

Hey guys. That sure was a fun day together :) Thanks for attending the training.
I've read all of your evaluations (thanks, I'm so glad you all liked it) and wanted to give you some hopefully helpful feedback.
Please check out the video below, where I will talk about a few things we didn't get to cover.
Underneath that is a copy of all the slides for those of you that want them. At the bottom of this page, I also wrote out some of the resources we talked about. If you know of other resources that I forgot or others that would be helpful, please add them in the comments for all to see.

Many of you have expressed interest in working with me for supervision, and I'd be delighted to supervise any of you. The easiest way to set this up is to schedule an initial meeting. You can easily do this from my website by looking at the contact window in the lower right corner and clicking the blue "Schedule Now" button. If nothing works in your schedule, you can send me a message from the same contact window and I can try to free something up for you. Sessions are $80 and you can pay right from my site.

A few of you asked about my book, so I'm copying a link to it under the slides. Despite the title, Ethics for Addiction Professionals, you don't need to be an addiction professional to benefit from the book. It is applicable to all helping professionals. If you get it, let me know what you think!

I look forward to checking in with some of you directly. To the rest of you, I bid you all a wonderful WARM spring and I hope we meet again. I wish you all patience, strength, creativity, tenacity, and a little dose of luck in building your practices. You are doing a great thing!

Hey all, in case you already checked out this page, I forgot to put up a job opportunity. I quickly mentioned it at the end of our training, but I got a flyer, so I included that above, under the slides. It is to join a practice in West Hartford. Check it out :)

Me again! I forgot to report TouchHealth, which is the site I use for clients to sign all my confidential forms. It's good and FREE, which is hard to come by :)

Hi Dr. Jenn, Again, I want to thank you for all the very helpful information you provided. I am contacting you with a question. Since I assume it may be helpful for others to see, I am posting it on this forum. I understand your slides from the training are copyrighted. I am wondering if you are willing to give permission to share any other information from the training? I have several colleagues interested in what I learned. Of course, the obvious answer is to recommend they attend the training. I am definately doing that piece. Again, I am not asking about the slides (for obvious reasons).

Umm...I don't like that question. Ask me another one! Ok, just kidding. I actually do find this question agonizing, thus I haven't answered it yet. On the one hand, I want you to be able to share all of this good information - yes, it is awesome to help you show your superiority over your colleagues, but more so because it is great information and the more people that know it, the better the whole profession! On the other hand, this is my bread and butter and if every participant shared the training information, my training jobs would dry up pretty quickly. And then I would be sad.

So definitely encourage everyone to take the training, that would be great! Or ask agency heads to hire me to train at the agency, that's also good. I will be getting this training online soon, so anyone can access it that way. But having said all of that, you can share training information with any individual. I just don't want you to get up in front of a group of people and give your own training with my materials. So if you have one or two folks who would love to hear what you learned, that is cool with me. If you have 100 friends and you've told all of them, then I would feel sad.

Make sense? Thanks for posting this great question. I appreciate your consideration very much. Have a great week all!
